Dr. Evia Davis

          Dr. Evia L. Davis is a retired educator with forty-three years of service in education. For two decades, Dr. Davis served as a tenured professor and chairwoman for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Langston University, Oklahoma's only Historically Black University (HBCU). She has also taught courses at Harris-Stowe State University in Saint Louis, Missouri.

          Prior to her career in higher education, Dr. Davis served as a teacher and preschool coordinator for the St. Louis Public Schools for over two decades. Dr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Langston University, a Master of Education Degree in Child Development from Washington State University, and a Doctor of Education Degree in Early Childhood Education from St. Louis University.

 

          Dr. Davis is a member of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, a life member of the Langston University Alumni Association, and a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Davis has also been involved in community service projects for over ten years as a Queen Mother and part of the "Nananom" (Council of Chiefs) for the people of Gomoa Obuasi in Ghana, West Africa.

          Dr. Davis has two adult children with the late Dr. Mark H. Davis, Senior, Nicole Titilayo Davis, and Dr. Mark Hosea Davis, II. She also has one grandchild, Mark Hosea Davis III.

Dr. Mark Davis, II

          Dr. Mark Davis, II is an inspiring champion for children and regionally recognized school leader who currently serves as the Founder and CEO of the Davis Family Foundation.
 

          Dr. Davis, a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, is a product of two educators and the University City school system. Also a native son to Oklahoma, Dr. Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Langston University at age 20. His studies at Langston emphasized an interest in agriculture, with international, USDA-sponsored research on goat milk production in the country of Armenia being one of many highlights of his undergraduate experience.
 

          At age 23, Dr. Davis found his passion and love for learning were best utilized in the support of young people; this led to the beginning of his teaching career. The following year, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University in Saint Louis. At age 26, he became an administrator for the Saint Louis Public Schools, where under his leadership, offerings in agricultural career and technical education programs doubled. After his teaching career began, he developed his talent in key educational leadership roles within small and large urban and rural settings over the next 15 years. At 28 years old, he served as a high school vice principal, and since has served as a head principal in elementary, middle, and high school settings. Over the years, Dr. Davis has supported students and families across the country in Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Alabama. In 2016 and at age 32, he earned a Doctorate degree from Saint Louis University. That same year he was also awarded and recognized in by North County, Incorporated as one of St. Louis’  "Top 30 leaders in
their 30s."
 

          Dr. Davis enjoys writing, mentoring, and serving in the community. He has participated and led in the deacon ministry at his home church, New Sunny Mount Baptist, along with the Prince Hall Masons, and within Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Mark has a 5-year-old son, Mark III. In his limited spare time, Dr. Davis enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and supporting HBCU football classics.
